India
We act for Indian companies with an interest in the UK, especially in litigation, arbitration or in the opening of offices and branches in Europe.
Our Indian roots were set down in 1984 when the firm was instructed as solicitors for the Indian High Commission. Over the years we have attracted and continue to retain a significant number of private and public sector Indian clients. We currently act for the state-owned Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Indian Oil Corporation and PEC. We also represent our UK and Europe based clients in their arbitrations in India.
Our Indian qualified lawyers in our London office advise on all aspects of Indian law, specifically company and commercial law, joint ventures, infrastructure and energy, intellectual property, tax and arbitration.
We also advise resident Indians with personal property, matrimonial, inheritance or trusts, or who seek to invest or take advantage of the favourable exchange rates and impending changes in immigration law in India.
In 2002, senior partner Sarosh Zaiwalla was awarded the India National Law Day for his contribution to the field of International Arbitration.
